Sponsor Spotlight

Taco Johns

Polar Bear

This month?s Sponsor Spotlight is Taco Johns!

Our relationship with Taco Johns began in March, 2023, when we invited them to the museum to learn about our education programs and see how they might be able to help support them. We were shocked and delighted when, at the end of that first meeting, they agreed to give us $2,500!

This generous donation helped us achieve two goals. First, we were able to get a polar bear skin tanned for our "Endangered Species" and "Bears" educational programs. It's been seen by 831 students already, and it will continue to be a crowd favorite for many years to come!?

Trunk [ [link removed] ]

We were also able to use that funding to help us create a brand new "Bison Culture" education trunk that will teach kids about the historic uses of the bison among the People of the Great Plains. Our education trunks are incredibly valuable to teachers all across Wyoming who can't bring their students to the museum for an in-person field trip. Instead, we ship them a trunk full of amazing artifacts and resources that they can use in the classroom. With this new trunk included, we have 10 trunks that get sent to more than 4000 students each year.

This "Bison Culture" trunk is starting it's statewide journey at Medicine Lodge this summer. You can stop in after April 29th to see it yourself!
