Last Friday, we emailed you to tell you about the huge step the Biden-Harris Administration took to prevent gun violence in our country: closing the gun show loophole.

Now we’re emailing you to tell you about another huge action President Biden and Vice President Harris announced last Friday: forgiving over $7.4 billion in student loan debt.

With this action, the total amount forgiven is over $153 billion in forgiven debt. This impacts over millions of borrowers across the country – a huge deal.

These numbers aren’t just statistics. These are real people affected. They are our friends, our family members, our parents, our kids. You might be one of the people directly impacted by this.

President Biden and Vice President Harris have been taking action on this issue since they took office – and it hasn’t been easy for them to get this done. Last year, the Supreme Court rejected their attempt to erase $400 billion in debt.

But President Biden and Vice President Harris haven’t given up. Their administration is now taking these smaller actions to provide real relief to people whose loan balances have skyrocketed due to interest, people who have been paying their loans for over twenty years, and people who are struggling to pay back their loans because of medical or child care costs.

And, once again, we’re asking you to talk to your friends and family about the work the Biden-Harris Administration is doing.

People are tuning out the news, especially when there is so much of it – so it’s up to us to spread the word about the work that President Biden and Vice President Harris are doing every single day to make our lives, and the lives of our loved ones, better and safer.
