On April 19th at 2:30 pm, we will be joining the youth of Chicagoland, taking to the streets in downtown Chicago to march to End the Era of Fossil Fuels. We will raise our voices for the generations of the future, for frontline communities, for BIPOC communities, and for all those affected by the climate crisis and corporate greed.
350 Chicago will be joining the next Fridays for Future Global Climate Strike in Chicago, IL! This joint coalition event is co-hosted by Fridays for Future Chicago, Chicago Climate Youth Coalition (Climate Reality Chicago), Sunrise Movement, 350 Chicago, 350.org, CAPA, Third Act Illinois, Rising Tide Chicago, Extinction Rebellion Chicago, Indivisible Chicago, Better Streets Chicago, SEA Loyola, Oak Park Environmental Club, Northside Environmental Action Organization, Lane Tech Sustainability Club, IMSA Club Terra, Hinsdale Central Ecology Club and more! We hope you can join us!
We will meet at Pritzker Park at 2:30 pm and then stop by a few key locations to bring attention to groups supporting fossil fuel usage. We’ll pay a visit to Chase Bank first to demand an end to fossil fuel financing, and then the Army Corps of Engineers office at the Wintrust Building to call for an end to fossil fuel infrastructure. We will end at Kluzinski Plaza to demand that President Biden Declare a Climate Emergency. We have a variety of voices including several youth speaking at the strike, and we will be singing as a group a climate parody of the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, led by musically talented youth environmental activists.
