Dear Friend of Opera Kansas,
Since 1985, Opera Kansas has been bringing opera to south central Kansas. We’ve fostered local performance, helped launch the careers of talented Kansans, promoted music and opera education to untold thousands of school children and now, Opera Kansas needs your support. Opera Kansas remains committed to bringing innovative, affordable, and accessible opera to Wichita and surrounding communities and schools.
This year, Opera Kansas is dedicating itself to the establishment of an Annual Fund
Our goal is to build a core group of dedicated supporters that will help us establish a $30,000 Annual Fund. We ask that you join us in this effort to further the long-established mission of Opera Kansas. An annual gift of $1000 or more underwrites a production, providing local professionals and emerging artists the opportunity to practice their craft while enhancing the public performance opportunities in south central Kansas that you have enjoyed for years. Your annual gift of $500 will fund the artist fee for one of our children’s opera performers, helping to introduce thousands of students every year to the wonder of the operatic world. Opera Kansas engages these students through music as they learn about the math and science behind the invention of the kaleidoscope, or how to stay safe during severe weather through an opera about storm chasers! A gift of $250 will provide the residents of an assisted living center a greatly desired afternoon or evening of beautiful music and wonderful
story through song.
Opera Kansas has emerged from the pandemic with an aggressive and exciting performance calendar of three full productions this season. Your donation helps further programming like this and the continued success of Opera and the arts in Kansas. Please utilize the enclosed information card when you return your donation. Your foundational contribution to the annual fund will be noted in performance programs and on our website for the 2024 season. As Opera Kansas is a 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
