Friend,
I had to make sure you saw my last message about protecting America’s horses. The Humane Society Legislative Fund has been fighting for years to stop horse slaughter in the United States and to protect our horses from being shipped across our borders to be slaughtered for human consumption. We’ve made crucial progress, but horses ranging from racehorses to children’s ponies are still being cruelly shipped and killed for their meat!
We MUST put an end to this by passing the Save America's Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act, which would permanently ban domestic horse slaughter in the U.S. and stop the export of American horses for slaughter abroad. Please, will you donate $20 or more now to help HSLF reach our goal? We must raise $50,000 by April 30 to keep on fighting for helpless animals who can’t protect themselves. ([link removed])
Thank you,

Friend,
Right now, hundreds of thousands of horse racing fans are eager for the Triple Crown season to begin. They’re waiting for the thrill of the starting bell, the thunder of hooves on the race track, and the excitement of cheering their favorite horse and rider duos to victory. But there’s a nightmare industry argeting horses—even those who capture the spotlight and love of the crowd—and we’re counting on your help to fight it.
Every year, thousands of horses end up in the slaughter pipeline, where they’re trucked over our borders and slaughtered for their meat. Will you make an urgent gift of $20 or more now to help the Humane Society Legislative Fund protect horses from this cruel fate and continue our lifesaving work for all animals? We MUST raise $50,000 before our April 30 deadline to continue this important work, and we can’t do it without you. ([link removed])

HSLF is working tirelessly to protect horses from heartbreaking betrayal and a brutal, painful death. Thanks to the advocacy of humane supporters like you, we’ve seen horse slaughtering plants shut down across the United States. But there’s still critical work to be done to make sure these plants stay closed for good, and to stop the export of vulnerable horses to meat processing plants in Canada and Mexico.
Without our efforts, this predatory industry will continue to target beloved riding companions, show ponies, work partners and racehorses. These sweet animals will have their lives brutally cut short, without a thought for the loyalty and companionship they have given and still have yet to give.
We believe horses deserve better, friend. That’s why we’re working with Congress to protect all horses from slaughter, soring and other forms of cruelty and abuse. But lifesaving animal protections aren’t won overnight, and we can’t sustain our fight for horses and other helpless animals unless we hit our crucial fundraising goals. So please, will you make a gift to HSLF now to help us reach our $50,000 goal? ([link removed])
Thank you so much for your support,
