** The 2024 STOP THE BLEED® Project Launches
------------------------------------------------------------
JEMS || April 11, 2024
The Project has officially announced its slate of 2024 programs including: the STOP THE BLEED® Grant and Scholarship Programs, the 2024 Raise Your Hand Campaign and the 7th annual STOP THE BLEED® Day, which takes place on Thursday, May 23, 2024, during EMS Week.
This year’s theme is “Building Community Through STOP THE BLEED®.” More and more, individuals and organizations are building community through the STOP THE BLEED® training and other activities. In these stressful times, STOP THE BLEED® unites people under a common cause, builds community resilience, and fosters connections.
The campaign is about community members knowing they are there for one another, if tragedy strikes. And in a world where emergencies can happen in the blink of an eye, building a prepared and resilient community is essential. All of the programs this year will reflect this theme in some way.

** Stop The Bleed Coalition Chair Dr. Levy featured on WMAR 2 News
------------------------------------------------------------
WMAR 2 News || April 12, 2024
Stop The Bleed Coalition chair Dr. Matthew Levy joined WMAR 2 New’s Midday Maryland segment to share information about STOP THE BLEED® and to talk about this year’s STOP THE BLEED® Day.
The Stop the Bleed Program was created to build national resilience by better preparing the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding.
A bleeding injury can happen anywhere. With this training, you can become an immediate responder to the situation and help save a life. Everyone, no matter the age, can learn how to Stop the Bleed. Trainees will learn how to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound; how to pack a wound to control bleeding; and how to correctly apply a tourniquet.
Maryland TraumaNet is a multidisciplinary and organizational advocacy group, consisting of representatives from each Maryland Trauma Center, focused on issues regarding the provision of trauma care within the Maryland Trauma System. On May 23rd, there will be a special Stop the Bleed Day Event hosted by the Maryland Committee on Trauma.
