Running the London marathon, united against suicide
Luke felt like he couldn’t see a way forward. Natalie lost her brother to suicide, and found support in our services. Romesh is not just our Patron - he’s struggled with suicidal thoughts himself.
This Sunday - April 21 - they’re all taking on the TCS London Marathon for CALM. Running to raise money for our vital services. Running in memory of loved ones lost. Running so that we can help make sure more people aren’t lost to suicide. But without your support CALM can't be there for people who need us - the truth is these services don’t exist without donations.
“I’m doing as much as I can to save someone like my brother in the future, so people know there is someone there who wants to listen to them.”
ROM: WHY I’M RUNNING FOR CALM
"I’m not sure where I’d be today if I didn’t get help when I hit rock bottom. In fact, I don’t know if I’d be here at all.
That’s why I’m breaking a lifelong promise to never run a marathon and taking it on for CALM - I want to raise money to make sure that no one going through stuff has to do it alone.”
Every day 18 people die by suicide in the UK. And 1 in 5 of us will struggle with suicidal thoughts. CALM is here every day to help more people face tomorrow. But our services don’t exist without donations. That's why Rom, Luke and Natalie are running for CALM.
Good luck to all CALM runners taking on 26.2 miles this weekend. And, please, give whatever you can and help us be there for even more people who need us.
