Why do some people think that Albert updated their mRNA booster guidance to every three months, starting with six month old babies?

[link removed] This is pure anti-vaccine propaganda ( [link removed] ) - no one is getting an mRNA booster every three months.

The usual suspects...

Did Alberta Update Their mRNA Booster Guidance to Every Three Months?

And not only did the folks at Western Standard, whatever that is, say that "Alberta Health Services (AHS) has updated its guidance on mRNA COVID-19 booster shots to every three months, beginning with six-month-old babies," they said:

> "That works out to about 320 doses for the average lifespan. "
>
> Alberta updates mRNA booster guidance to every three months, starting with six-month-old babies

320 doses?!?

So what's the truth?

> "Starting April 15, 2024, select groups of Albertans at high risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19 will be eligible for an additional dose of the XBB.1.5 COVID-19 vaccine."
>
> COVID-19 vaccine information

Yes, the myth of 320 doses started simply because Alberta Health Services is recommending a booster dose of the COVID vaccine for high risk groups.

A booster dose of an updated COVID vaccine that protects against the newest XBB.1.5 variant.

But what about the every three months part?

And the six-month-old babies part?

[link removed] No one is getting an mRNA booster every three months...

That's just part of the schedule for COVID vaccines.

You can get this new updated COVID vaccine at least 3 months after your last one and the first dose can be given when infants are at least six months old.

Will we keep getting updated COVID vaccines ( [link removed] ) every three months?

No.

Is it possible that we will get a updated yearly COVID vaccine?

Until we get a universal type COVID vaccine that provides long term protection, that is likely, as the COVID virus continues to change.

But every three month COVID vaccine boosters is clearly anti-vaccine propaganda ( [link removed] ) .
