Dear John,

I have good news and bad news.

The good news: 1 in 5 Alabama households are currently saving money on their monthly internet bills through the Affordable Connectivity Program, which we created through President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The bad news: Conservatives in Congress are blocking us from renewing this program, which is set to expire at the end of this month. That means more than 400,000 Alabama families will see their internet costs go up or lose internet access altogether.

John, that is simply unacceptable. The families I hear from want us to LOWER their costs, not raise them.

I want you to know that I'm fighting to keep this program up and running. I'm cosponsoring H.R. 6929, a bill that would provide critical funding to extend the Affordable Connectivity Program so that your family can continue to save money. I am urgently calling on my Republican colleagues to join us in this effort.

I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! HAVE YOU BENEFITTED FROM THE AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM?

Access to affordable, high-speed internet is not a luxury. It is a necessity. Alabama workers rely on the internet to do their jobs. Our children rely on the internet to do their classwork. Our seniors rely on the internet to access telehealth services. And we ALL rely on the internet to stay connected.

As the only Member of Congress from Alabama to vote in favor of President Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, I am so proud to have helped secure an historic $1.4 billion to expand broadband in our state and close the digital divide. I will continue fighting to ensure these funds make it to the communities that need it most.

As always, please be sure to check in regularly with our website and social media pages (TwitterFacebook, and Instagram) for updates. If you'd like to share your thoughts or concerns, you can email me here.

Today and every day, it is an honor to serve you in Congress. Take good care.

Sincerely,
