It’s that time of the month again…
As an active democratic activist and donor for my entire life, I am on just about every political fundraising list out there. When the mid-month, end of month, or end of quarter fundraising emails would avalanche into my inbox, I would always roll my eyes and ignore them.
To me it seemed like BS. Who is the deadline with? What are the consequences if you don’t meet this seemingly arbitrary middle of the month deadline? Who cares? It all just seemed like ways to drive a false sense of urgency.
Now don’t get me wrong there are a lot of folks out there who are doing exactly that. But for campaign’s like mine in extremely competitive races - in my case, NY-04, the most vulnerable GOP seat in the entire nation, these deadlines mean life or death.
The entire GOP and their fundraising apparatus is rallying behind my opponent, Congressman Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY), a MAGA anti-choice extremist, and will dump as much money as takes into shoring up his seat.
To catch up to D’Esposito’s millions I need to be hitting every single goal exactly on the mark. Missing our goal tonight would be a dangerous setback for our chances of taking back this seat as well as the entire house.
