Here are some updates from the U.S. Supreme Court.
In a win for voters, the Supreme Court declined to take up a Republican legal challenge to Washington’s state-level Voting Rights Act — leaving in place the law’s robust protections for minority voters.
Former President Donald Trump submitted his reply brief in the immunity case before the Supreme Court, reiterating his argument that presidents "enjoy absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts." Oral argument will be held next week on April 25.
The Arizona, Delaware and Georgia Republican parties urged the Supreme Court to take up Kari Lake’s lawsuit trying to ban voting machines in Arizona, arguing that courts set too high of a standard for election challenges to proceed.
The Supreme Court won't hear a case challenging a Wyoming law that prohibits election campaigning, canvassing and collecting signatures within 300 feet of a polling place. The law will remain in effect.
And another, non-Supreme Court update from today.
Here’s what’s coming up tomorrow.
