This November, deciding who to vote for won’t be the only decision you’ll make in the voting booth.



You will also be asked to vote on the deceptively named “Equal Rights Amendment” (ERA). Like so much of what comes from Albany, the proposed amendment isn’t what it says it is – so it’s important you learn the facts.



Far-Left New York legislators have tried to mislead the public by claiming the ERA’s purpose is to secure abortion rights, an issue already heavily protected under state law.



The real agenda of the bill is to strip away parents’ rights by preventing them from having a say in their children’s life-altering medical decisions.



The amendment snuck in language that allows “gender identity” as a protected class to extend to underage children.



As such, if ERA passes and your 15-year-old decides to change gender, you will have no right to object to them receiving so-called “gender affirming care” – including puberty blockers or even gender reassignment surgery.



Think this can’t be true? Don’t forget that last year the New York State Department of Education instructed school districts to keep parents in the dark about student gender changes. It's considered a secret, if that's what the child wants.



As a mother, I recognize the slippery slope this amendment takes us down, and as a legislator I know where it will land. The ERA is a radical measure, pushed by activists who wish to transform society. They don’t trust parents. And they will willfully deny our rights over our own children.
