Friend, I'll be honest. We need a few more friends for local
efforts. Our staff are on the front lines of support, so that that no
veteran struggles alone and people can rely on lifesaving support from
hunger, homelessness and other dire emergencies.

If you're able to chip in, even $10 would mean everything to a
veteran in need. You'd be helping us provide relief like food,
shelter, job training, and mental health support.

A community that shows up when help is needed, is the greatest
blessing we can ask for. Thank you, on behalf of veterans and others
we serve! - Tanisha

Subject: Enemy shrapnel barely missed Robert's spine
Date: Thursday, April 12

A decorated war hero. Living out of his truck. Don't let this be the
end of the story.

Senior vet outside help center

Robert faced a medical discharge from the Army after enemy shrapnel
pierced his shoulder in Afghanistan. It barely missed his spine, and
he felt lucky.

But his luck began to run out. Returning to civilian life, he
struggled for work and, wracked by war traumas, Robert became
homeless.

From the moment Robert arrived at VOA, he knew he would no longer have
to cope alone. He received food and shelter, counseling, and a plan to
get back on his feet. His life was renewed, because of kindness and
generosity like yours.

Robert's story isn't unique. 35,000+ veterans are experiencing
homelessness right now, and many more face PTSD, unemployment and
injuries from combat.

They need your help. All it takes is caring, and the decision to do
something about it. I guarantee, your support can change lives.

Thank you for standing up for our veterans!

Sincere regards,

Tanisha Smith
