John,
One of my fiercest allies in Congress is Rep. Summer Lee.
When Summer Lee first ran for Congress in 2022, she overcame $5 million in attacks from anti-Palestinian group AIPAC to become Pennsylvania’s first Black Congresswoman.
As a freshman member of Congress, in the face of millions of dollars in new attacks, Summer has continued demanding human rights with no exceptions, including for Palestinians. She’s one of the few members of Congress who’s consistently aligned with the vast majority of Democratic voters and the majority of Americans, who are demanding a permanent ceasefire and to stop funding war crimes with our tax dollars.
Now Summer Lee’s first re-election is in one week, next Tuesday. And billionaire Trump supporter Jeffrey Yass, the richest man in Pennsylvania and one of the top right-wing political donors in the country, is now funding ads attacking Summer and supporting her AIPAC-recruited opponent.
Will you chip in $5 or more to help Summer Lee in this final crucial push?
As Summer Lee said about Jeffrey Yass: "His biggest priorities have been defunding public education, banning abortion, and cutting taxes for the wealthiest billionaires in our country."
By contrast, Summer joined me in introducing the OLIGARCH Act to tax extreme wealth and invest in our communities. She’s a champion for expanding our rights, including the right to abortion, housing, healthcare, and education.
Meanwhile, her opponent encouraged Republicans to register as Democrats in order to vote against Summer in next week’s Democratic primary election.
With one week left until Summer Lee’s first re-election, please split a donation between Summer’s and my re-election campaigns today so we can withstand millions of dollars in attacks from AIPAC and other right-wing PACs.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately, split evenly between Summer Lee & Rashida Tlaib
A community organizer and activist who served her neighbors in Pennsylvania’s State House before running for Congress in 2022, Summer became the first Black woman to represent Pennsylvania in Congress.
In response to Wall Street billionaire Jeffrey Yass inserting himself and his money into Summer’s race, funding attack ads trying to defeat her, the legislative director from local group 1HoodPower said:
"Pittsburgh was deemed the worst livable city for Black women. Is it any surprise that a billionaire who made his money off of our exploitation is trying to stop us from electing champions who advocate for what our communities need to thrive and be safe?"
Summer is indeed a progressive champion. She understands that we’re in office not only to pass transformative policies, but also to serve our constituents, helping them navigate everyday challenges like securing federal benefits—and she’s opened a number of neighborhood service centers and mobile offices to do so.
Through this constituent service work and her courageous votes, Summer is affirming the value of all life, building a multiracial democracy that works for the working class and building a world with dignity for all human beings.
We need more members of Congress like her, and we need to make sure she stays in Congress.
With just one week left until Summer Lee’s first re-election, will you split a donation TODAY between my and Summer’s re-election campaigns, so we can stay in Congress pushing for the human rights and dignity we all deserve?
Thank you. With your support, Summer and I will continue to fight for you and for our collective liberation.
In solidarity,
Rashida
