Neighbors,

As your representative in Congress, one of my most important jobs is getting federal funding to support community-driven projects in San Antonio. Over the last three years, I’ve been very proud to get nearly $40 million for projects that fund home repairs for senior citizens, keep clean water running during weather emergencies, and much more.

Right now, my office is accepting new requests for community project funding from non-profit organizations, community groups, and other local entities. To learn more about the process and submit a request for funding, click here.

Here are some of the projects that have received funding over the last three years:
  • The HUB Government Contracting Academy at UTSA, which helps entrepreneurs develop the skills to compete for government contracts.
  • Prosper West’s Casa Bella Project, which rehabilitates vacant homes to preserve affordable housing in San Antonio.
  • Accessibility Renovations at South San Civic Center, which provides community and senior services in southwest Bexar County.
  • The YWCA San Antonio Women’s Live and Learn Center, which will provide safe housing and workforce development programs for young women in need.
  • Construction of the Learn Center at Las Palmas Library Branch, which will provide workforce and skills development opportunities for adults on the Westside.

Thank you,

Joaquin Castro
Member of Congress
