Dear Friend,

We’ll soon be sitting at our Seders to tell the story of our journey from mitzrayim — the narrow place — to freedom. We’re commanded every year to tell the story as our own story: “we were” and not “they were.” And yet every year, there is a distance between where we sit now, reclining, and the experience of our ancestors.

Today, when we host our Seders, in a nation increasingly in need of solidarity against white supremacy, and in a world where violence goes unchecked — sometimes in our name — what if we heard from our future selves too? How would both sides of our collective wisdom inform us at our tables?

That’s why we made this special new Passover resource for you: Four Questions, and Answers from the Future.

Like our ancestors who dreamed of a better future and then took the hard steps to make that dream a reality, we too are working to build the world we dream for ourselves, all people, and future generations. This Passover we’re imagining what our descendants would tell us now, after having succeeded — or failed — to build that world.

In this season we are also in another moment of change — elections. While elections alone won’t get us free, they’re one of our tools for building power and fighting the pharaohs of our time.

Right now, we’re organizing in New York and Pennsylvania to support three important primary candidates, all champions for our issues in Congress: Mondaire Jones (NY-17), Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), and Summer Lee (PA-12).

And we’re not stopping here. As this critical election year continues, we’re fighting for the future we dream of by mobilizing in key races around the country and coming together as a movement to defeat Trump and his MAGA movement at the ballot box once again. Keep an eye out for more ways to get involved soon!

As we do this work to build a better future together, we also take time to really imagine what that shared future could be — what it will look, sound, taste, and feel like. We hope you’ll add this new Passover offering to your Seder, reading it with your loved ones to ground you in the future we’re building together.

Chag Pesach sameach. Wishing you a joyous Passover,

The Bend the Arc team

PS: If you’re able, we hope you’ll consider donating here, or after you download your Passover resource, to power our election work. Any amount — $5, $10, $18, $36, or whatever you’re able to give — will help our movement fight the pharaohs of our time.
