This past month, a series of new rules marked a significant win for the environmental and climate movement in the US:

• The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) set new emissions standards for light-and-medium-duty vehicles (e.g. passenger cars and pick-up trucks). These standards are poised to prevent up to 7.2 billion tons of carbon emissions and 2,500 premature deaths in 2055.
• The EPA announced the strongest standards yet for greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty vehicles, like delivery trucks and school buses, aimed at avoiding one billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2055.

These critical standards were finalized through the collective effort of climate advocates like you, with Climate Reality alone submitting over 8,000 comments on the EPA vehicle standards.
