SPEAKERS

Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka

Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka is a leading wildlife veterinarian, conservationist, and scientist working to save the critically endangered mountain gorillas of East Africa. She is the Founder and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health, a Ugandan NGO that promotes conservation by improving the health and well-being of people and wildlife, enabling both groups to safely coexist on the edges of protected areas.

Dr. Karen Hardee

A social demographer for over 30 years, Dr. Hardee, President of Hardee Associates, has extensive technical and leadership experience working with a range of development agencies and NGOs and as a consultant on family planning and reproductive health; rights-based programming; gender equity; global development and climate change; policy and program development; research; and evaluation.

Margaret Edison

Margaret Edison is the Director of the Population Management and Development Department of Nigeria’s National Population Commission. She coordinates the formulation and implementation of the National Policy on Population for Sustainable Development, including the implementation of the demographic dividend agenda. Ms. Edison is also Chair of the National Population Councils of the Regional Collaboration Platform for Africa.

Join us for a virtual panel discussion where we'll emphasise how addressing the crucial connections between population dynamics and sustainable development can bolster funding for international reproductive health and rights.

This discussion aligns with this year's CPD57 theme, “Assessing the status of implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and its contribution to the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development during the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development”.
