The world is at a critical juncture in the fight against climate change, and few entities have the power to accelerate the clean energy transition like the World Bank. It can choose which countries it provides loans and grants to for development. That means the World Bank can offer significant funding for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help vulnerable countries – especially those who have contributed the least to greenhouse gas emissions – adapt to the effects of climate change.
