VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump descends into utter confusion at his own rally
Like a 7th grader writing a book report for a novel he definitely never read, the serially indicted con man wandered off script during a weekend pep rally to talk a little US history, and, well, it was...something. "Gettysburg, what an unbelievable, I mean it was so much and so interesting and so vicious and horrible and so beautiful in so many different ways... Gettysburg, wow," the disgraced ex-president bullshitted to throngs of probably confused cult followers in Pennsylvania. Please, let's continue to discuss presidential cognitive decline on the campaign trail! Really going well for Donnie so far. Also, we fully expect to see a line of "GETTYSBURG WOW" merchandise from the MAGA brain trust any day now. Never miss an opportunity to swindle!

Trump rages on eve of jury selection for porn star hush money trial
"Just four years ago I was a very popular and successful President," the serially indicted cult leader whined on Truth Social. "Tomorrow morning I'll be in Criminal Court." Well, he's partly right. He was president. And he'll definitely be in criminal court today for illegally paying a porn star $130,000 to keep quiet about their affair ahead of the 2016 election. That whole "successful" thing, though? Uh, yeah, not by a mile.

Trump's extreme abortion ban plot gets exposed
MoveOn: The Republican Party is ramping up their attacks on abortion rights and bodily autonomy—and they have their eye on a national abortion ban. Donald Trump has already said he'd sign a national ban if he's presented with one. Will you add your name to tell Republicans that we will NOT stand for the loss of our reproductive healthcare?
Rep. Ruben Gallego says codifying abortion rights is necessary to combat Arizona's 1864 law
Democratic Rep. and Senate hopeful Ruben Gallego said any solutions besides codifying abortion rights would be insufficient to combat the near-total abortion ban from 1864 that Republicans have forced down Arizona's throat. "The damage is done," Gallego said. "The only protection we really, really have is to codify this and put this on the ballot and enshrine Roe and protect abortion rights." His Republican opponent, former TV talker and Big Lie enthusiast Kari Lake, heralded the draconian ban — which was written when slavery was still a thing and women were more than a half-century away from being allowed to vote — calling it a "great law" as recently as 2022. Let's definitely remember in November.

Nope. Definitely not a cult.

Kansas governor vetoes proposed ban on gender-affirming care for minors
Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly vetoed a proposed ban on gender-affirming care for minors, a measure to require more reporting from abortion providers, and what she called a "vague" bill making it a crime to coerce someone into having an abortion. The measures appeared to have the two-thirds majorities needed in both chambers to override vetoes, but GOP leaders' success depends on how many lawmakers are absent on a given day, especially in the House. Highlighting Republicans' obsession with targeting a tiny, marginalized group of the population with incessant anti-trans attacks, Kelly wrote, "If the Legislature paid this much attention to the other 99.8% of students, we'd have the best schools on earth."
Bundles of cash found at Sen. Bob Menendez’s house weren't from his bank, prosecutors say
Some of the cash found squirreled away in embattled Sen. Bob "Many Gold Bars" Menendez's home by federal investigators in the summer of 2022 had been issued by a bank where he'd never opened an account, according to prosecutors, a claim they said suggests the New Jersey senator and his wife had been given the money "by another person." In court records filed Friday and obtained by The New York Times, prosecutors revealed that at least part of the staggering $500,000 haul discovered in jacket pockets, closets, and a safe around the Menedezes’ house had been wrapped in bands from a bank where the couple "had no known depository account." Oops.

"He’s 100% with me!" Speaker Johnson boasts that Trump has his back amid Marjorie Taylor Greene’s threats to oust him
The Republican House speaker shackled himself to the disgraced ex-president in a harried bid to thwart QAnon enthusiast Marjorie Taylor Greene's crusade to strip away the gavel he just laid claim to late last year. Taking his playground feud with Greene to the court of public opinion on Fox News yesterday, Johnson boasted that Trump is firmly in his corner, proclaiming, "I spent hours with the president on Friday. He and I talk frequently, many times, usually, in a week. We have a long relationship. He’s 100 percent with me!" before calling Greene's antics a "distraction." Your move, Marjorie!
