John,

After supporting Trudeau’s carbon tax for years, Jagmeet Singh has flip-flopped and now says he’s against it.

Of course, that’s just political positioning to differentiate himself from his Liberal coalition partner as the election approaches.

He still believes in climate alarmism.

The flip side of that announcement is that he supports MORE of the other taxes, regulations, and subsidies that the federal government has adopted to reach the Paris Accord emissions reduction targets.

And there are lots of those.

Taxes and regulations on the oil & gas industry, on heavy industry, on agriculture, on cars and fuel, on the construction industry, subsidies for EV buyers, EV batteries manufacturers, public transportation, etc. etc.

Ordinary Canadians inevitably end up paying the costs for all these measures, just like they’re paying the carbon tax.

At least, Singh is transparent – he’s not afraid to say he wants more of these other taxes, regulations and subsidies!

It’s a different thing when it comes to Pierre Poilievre, who’s been campaigning against the carbon tax.

He says he will propose other ways to reduce emissions.

And he never mentions abolishing all these other taxes, regulations, and subsidies.

Poilievre supports the Paris Accord.

He voted for it in 2017. And he confirmed again last November that he doesn’t want Canada to withdraw from it.

So what’s the difference between Singh’s and Poilievre’s position on climate, you might wonder?

There isn’t any! Except that Poilievre won’t admit he too wants more of these other taxes, regulations and subsidies!

My position on the Paris Accord is clear: We should withdraw from it!

I’m also against the carbon tax — AND against all the other taxes, regulations, and subsidies!

John, the PPC is the only party committed to abolishing ALL these costly programs.
