Vol. 118, Issue #60
Dear Friends/Amigos,

Last week, I scored major wins in Congress for Florida's 27th Congressional District. From introducing a House resolution to stand with Israel in its war against Hamas terrorism to passing my legislation to protect the migratory birds that make South Florida so special, please know that I am constantly fighting for Miami's interests in the halls of Congress.

It is an honor to serve you in Congress, and as always, please don't hesitate to call my office at (202) 225-3931 with your opinion.

Sincerely/Atentamente,

María E. Salazar
U.S. Representative (FL-27)
I WILL ALWAYS STAND WITH ISRAEL!
The barbaric attack Hamas perpetrated against Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023 was a disgusting display of cowardice and evil. Since then, the Israel Defense Forces launched its war of self-defense against those who slaughtered innocent men, women, and children on that day.

Recently, the Radical Left is forcing the Biden Administration to impose one-sided pressure on the Israeli government to begin an immediate ceasefire, allowing Hamas terrorists to regroup and reorganize. Here is the reality: There was a ceasefire on October 7th, and Hamas broke it.

These are simple truths, and I wrote a resolution to put them on paper.

House Republican leadership, including Speaker Mike Johnson and Majority Leader Steve Scalise, joined me in a major press conference to reiterate these truths to the American people.

MY MIGRATORY BIRDS BILL PASSED THE HOUSE!
The House of Representatives passed my billthe Migratory Birds of the Americas Conservation Enhancements Actwith bipartisan support!

The legislation will safeguard our wildlife and the environment by ensuring migratory birds in South Florida and across the Americas are conserved for generations to come. The Florida Everglades is a critical habitat for many of these birds – including Egrets, Herons, and Ibis.

HONORING THE LEGACY OF OAS SECRETARY GENERAL LUIS ALMAGRO
Last week, I spoke before the Organization of American States (OAS) about the concerning rise of antisemitism in Latin America following Hamas' terror attack against Israeli civilians last year.

Unfortunately, many heads of state across Latin America are engaging in dangerous antisemitic rhetoric that is putting the Jewish communities in their respective countries in danger.

I've been working hard for the last few months in Congress to shine a light on this trend and to work with critical partners in the region to help counter it. One of those partners is OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro.

In my speech, I honored him for his work as Secretary General to fight antisemitism in our hemisphere and for his legacy at the OAS.
