Donald Trump thinks he’s being slick and threading the needle by telling us he wants abortion to be “left to the states.” We just got our first glimpse of what that actually means — a Republican state supreme court upholding Arizona’s total abortion ban from 1864. That’s what Donald Trump supports.

Wisconsin is another crucial, must-win battleground state that ALSO has an ancient abortion ban on the books, this one from 1849. That’s what Donald Trump’s lackey Rep. Derrick Van Orden supports — and why progressive champion Eric Wilson is running to kick him out of Congress for good.

Wisconsin’s abortion ban is currently the subject of a lawsuit, and if it gets upheld, millions could lose abortion access in yet another state. The only way to stop these draconian laws once and for all is to enshrine Roe v. Wade at the federal level — and we’ll need a majority in Congress to do it.

Eric Wilson is the polar opposite of Derrick Van Orden, who is entirely unfit to hold office. Orden is an anti-abortion extremist who was at Trump’s January 6th mob rally, a fanatical supporter of Trump’s radical MAGA agenda, and an atrociously behaved man who’s been hit with ethics complaints for drinking on the job.

Wilson, on the other hand, is committed to protecting reproductive rights, passing Medicare for All, and getting dark money out of American politics. A Congressional majority is key to protecting our abortion rights, and accomplishing that starts with electing Eric Wilson in the critical state of Wisconsin.
