Common-sense gun safety legislation is proven to save lives.

I am grateful to live in New York, where we have some of the strongest gun safety laws in the country, and one of the lowest rates of gun deaths. Yet in Washington, too many politicians continue to stand against gun safety legislation at the expense of the people they were elected to represent.

We owe it to the families who have lost loved ones to the gun violence epidemic that plagues our country – we have to act now. We need real leaders in Congress who will prioritize protecting Americans instead of bowing to the gun lobby.
