VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump violates gag order ahead of trial
Well, well, well, if it isn't the most predictable thing in the whole world. Trump took to Truth Social and attacked one of the key witnesses in his upcoming trial, his old fixer and ex-Trump Org VP Michael Cohen. “Has disgraced attorney and felon Michael Cohen been prosecuted for LYING?” wrote Trump. The real question is, will disgraced ex-president and felon Donald Trump be prosecuted for VIOLATING HIS GAG ORDER?

Ted Cruz's corrupt bargain
If you've been unfortunate enough to have seen one of Ted Cruz's constant appearances on television, you may have heard him plug his podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz, on which he promotes outrageous anti-democratic conspiracy theories with zero pushback or accountability from the hosting network, iHeartRadio. Now it's becoming clear that the podcast is a cash cow for the company — and Ted Cruz is illegally reaping the rewards. The Cruz campaign has said that the Texas senator hosts the podcast "for free," (yeah right) describing it as a "volunteer" position. But of course, like all the other times he talks, Ted Cruz is lying. Over the course of the last year, iHeart has paid $630,850 to the Truth and Courage PAC, a super PAC devoted "to ensuring that Ted Cruz is re-elected to the United States Senate in 2024." This is a violation of campaign finance law, writes Judd Legum at his blog Popular.info.That money is being used by the Truth and Courage PAC to run ads against Cruz's Democratic opponent, Colin Allred, accusing him of being personally responsible for murders committed by immigrants. Lies earning money for lies that then pay for more lies — that's how our democracy dies.

Ohio’s true state of the state: Relentless misrepresentation, extremism, and corruption
Such are the rancid, blighted fruits of Republican governance. The editor-in-chief of the Ohio Capital-Journal, David Dewitt, tore into GOP Gov. Mike DeWine and a Republican legislature that has presided over the deliberate dismantlement of the state's once-proud public school system — from 5th best in the nation to 20th — while the state languishes in the bottom half of all states on economy, environment, infrastructure, and healthcare. "Sweetheart Republican special interests often get everything they ask for in Ohio, while community advocates fighting every day to obtain proven policy solutions that improve the lives of Ohioans get largely ignored. Wealthy families and corporations continue to do phenomenally in the Buckeye State while millions get left behind, or outright attacked," writes Dewitt. "Our median household income is below the national average and our poverty rate is above the national average. Ohio also has one of the worst infant mortality rates in the country, and ranks No. 29 in income inequality, with the top 1% of Ohioans taking home nearly 16% of all of the income in the state." Make no mistake — this is what the ENTIRE United States will eventually look like if Donald Trump and his extremist lackeys get their way.

Big Brother is watching Amazon and Walmart workers
A new report from Oxfam reveals the highly sophisticated and deeply disturbing surveillance state that commerce giants Amazon and Walmart — which employ a combined 2.6 million people in their warehouses — use to spy on their workers. The report found that “regimes of measurement, surveillance, discipline, and data collection deployed by both companies unduly punish workers, stifle worker voice, and have negative impacts on worker health, safety, and well-being." This monitoring is used to coerce workers into working faster while putting their health at risk, squashing any opportunities for workers to organize, and extracting every last cent of productivity out of their workers to maximize profits for the wealthy oligarchs at the top.
