Hakeem Jeffries, unanimously elected House Democratic Leader by his colleagues in November 2022, is the highest-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives and the first Black American to lead a party in either chamber of Congress. Leader Jeffries has proudly represented New York’s 8th Congressional District since 2013.
In Congress, Leader Jeffries helped develop the For The People agenda. Known for his compelling oratory and steadfast dedication to public service, Leader Jeffries is a tireless advocate for social and economic justice and has worked relentlessly to improve the economy for everyday Americans and protect our fundamental rights from right-wing attacks.
