It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting for our conservative values.
Yesterday, the FISA reauthorization passed out of the House - without the warrant requirement. The Fourth Amendment makes it abundantly clear that a probable cause warrant is mandatory for searches of U.S. citizens. That’s why I supported a bipartisan amendment that would have protected Americans from warrantless surveillance by federal law enforcement agencies. As a constitutional conservative, I am supremely disappointed that this amendment failed, leading me to vote AGAINST the final bill. I care about national security, but not at the expense of our constitutional right to privacy.
Housing, gasoline, cars, eggs, meat: Americans are paying more for everything thanks to Bidenomics. This month's Consumer Price Index (CPI) report blew up the notion that things are getting better, that our economy is “strong as hell,” as Biden puts it. Inflation is up 19.4% since he took office, and there is no reprieve in sight. In fact, the average household in Minnesota is paying $1,136 more per month to purchase the same goods and services as in 2021. Persistent inflation is just another reason why we must deal seriously and decisively with federal spending.
As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with. Thank you for your continued support.
Enjoy the beautiful weekend!
