Dear Friend,

Have you ever stood at the grocery store totally ready to pay, only to
realize you left your money or card at home? Or run around your house
desperately searching for the glasses that are sitting right on top of
your head?

We’ve all had those moments. Moms have to remember SO MANY THINGS at the
same time. It can be exhausting and overwhelming to be on top of it all!

[ [link removed] ]But having your vote and voice count is something we at MomsRising
DON’T want you to stress about. Which is why we are sending you a reminder
to take a super quick moment RIGHT NOW to register to vote or quickly
check that your voter registration is up-to-date!

I probably don’t need to tell you how important voting is, BUT I do want
to share how the critical issues we care about that impact our lives come
down to the decisions made at the ballot box. For example, the federal
budget that was passed two weeks ago included nearly a $1 billion increase
for child care and Head Start.

The support for child care in this budget is good news, but we know it’s
not enough to solve our child care crisis. Right now, more than half of
families live in child care deserts, where families either have access to
NO child care or there are not enough child care providers available.[1]
In addition to this, across the country, the annual price of infant child
care often exceeds the annual cost of in‑state tuition at a public
four‑year university.[2]

Child care continues to be unaffordable and inaccessible while child care
providers are paid poverty level wages. We need leaders that understand
the challenges that America’s families are facing. ALL 435 seats in the
United States House of Representatives and 34 of the 100 seats in the
United States Senate will be up for election this November. This is a big
deal, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to be correctly
registered!

We know you forget the cell phone in your hand or the glasses on your head
because of the hard work you do every single day to support, love, and
care for those around you. Our economy can truly prosper and our families
and country can thrive if people like you take action, make calls, sign
petitions, and VOTE! Thank you for all you do!
