We want to bring you updates on what Mark Warner is working on to make sure that all Virginians are protected during this difficult time.

Here are just some of Mark’s priorities for this week:

• Mark and many of his Senate colleagues called on the Treasury and Social Security Administration to make sure Social Security recipients could receive their direct stimulus payment without having to file a tax return. Shortly thereafter, the Trump administration reversed its decision.


• Mark called for the protection of federal contractors during the coronavirus outbreak and clarification of what the CARES act provides for those working on critical national security missions.


• Mark continued his work to make sure all students have the internet access they need to continue learning during this outbreak, so that no child’s education is disrupted due to social distancing directives.


• Mark spoke out about the coronavirus outbreak aboard the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt and urged the Navy to do more to keep our sailors safe from coronavirus.

Before we sign off, we have an update on our fundraiser for the Federation of Virginia Food Banks from last week. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $11,000 to support this important organization during a really critical time.
