Fellow Advocate,

I wanted to make sure you saw Adam’s note from yesterday about the impact we plan to have in the upcoming fall elections. As the Development Director at CeaseFirePA PAC, it’s my job to make sure the money keeps flowing, and I wanted to reiterate that a generous Bucks County donor has pledged to match donations up to our $25,000 goal.

That means that we have the opportunity to kick off our endorsement process with $50,000 in the bank, putting our very best foot forward.

So far, we've already raised $10,000 – the impact of which will be doubled. But, We need your help to take full advantage of this tremendous gift. Will you contribute just $5 to help us reach our goal and continue and support gun violence prevention champions in elections across the Commonwealth?

As we prepare for our endorsement process, every penny that comes in is going right back out to help build a pathway for folks to get elected because of their gun safety advocacy, not in spite of it. First, we will elect gun safety champions in suburban districts, then we will prove that this model can be replicated across the Commonwealth.

This is a really pivotal time to give, and you have the added bonus of your donation being matched up to $25,000. So please, take a look at Adam’s email below and then make a $5 contribution now, which will be immediately doubled.

I was just sitting down to start planning CeaseFirePA’s PAC spending for this election year, and it occurred to me that I should reach out and give you a peek into this critical facet of our work to elect gun safety champions to state-level office.

As you know, we are a grassroots organization fighting gun violence in our Commonwealth. We do not necessarily have the multi-million dollars in funding or the national profile of some organizations on the other side, but we have the strategic prowess to go toe-to-toe with them in contested races across Pennsylvania.

This cycle, we’re focusing on flippable suburban districts in both the House and Senate for two reasons:
Because we know we can win them, defending and growing the narrow gun safety majority we have in the House and building power in the Senate
To create a long-term ripple effect that shifts the politics on this issue, proving that standing for gun safety is a winning electoral strategy for future candidates

The team and I came up with an initial fundraising goal to make our biggest impact yet on Pennsylvania elections. To do that, we need to raise $25,000 by Primary Day, April 23, so we can start our endorsement (and investment) process on the highest possible ground. And I wanted to share some BIG NEWS on that front: a generous Bucks County donor has pledged to match all donations up to our $25,000 goal.

So, will you chip in $5 to help us cross this threshold and prepare for victory in the fall?

Like me, I’m sure you were absolutely thrilled to hear about our recent victory on ghost guns. ICYMI: House Bill 777, which forces ghost gun kits to be serialized and purchasers to pass a background check, passed in PA House last month with bipartisan support. [1]

Because of our team’s efforts we were able to get three Republicans to vote for this life-saving bill. But, there are far too many anti-gun safety legislators in flippable districts who have proven over and over that they will never be willing to do the right thing.

As this bill moves to the PA Senate, our path is laid out: we must elect gun safety champions in BOTH chambers of the General Assembly to ensure bills like this get to Gov. Shapiro’s desk. In order to make the smartest and most timely investments, we NEED to reach our $25,000 goal by April 23 – and the best part is, thanks to our match donor, we can turn immediately turn this into $50,000.

So, will you chip in 5 to help us cross this threshold and prepare for victory in the fall?
