In early April, Florida’s Supreme Court approved a six-week abortion ban. And then, Arizona’s Supreme Court allowed a law from the 1860s to be enacted that criminalizes abortion outright.

As a nurse, I’ve sat with women and held their hands as they faced the hardest decisions they would ever have to make around terminating pregnancies for medical reasons. So unlike most politicians, I know exactly why these decisions are best left to a woman and her doctor.
