COVID-19 Resources from Discipleship Ministries

The Coronavirus pandemic has impacted nearly every aspect of daily life for people across the globe. Phrases like "social distancing" have become commonplace. In the U.S., most schools and universities have closed; many businesses have temporarily shut their doors or will open for limited hours; and the CDC has recommended large gatherings should not take place at this time. Local churches are also attempting to respond in appropriate ways, but many congregations have questions. Being the Virtual Church

Last week, the Texas United Methodist Foundation launched the Being the [ virtual ] Church website to equip you with practical resources, information, and inspiration to help you weave a new fabric of community, mending its torn edges and creating new vibrant patterns of life together in Christ. Yesterday they added a new section dedicated to the recently passed CARES Act, which offers small businesses and nonprofits loans to help cover payroll costs during this emergency. Ignite Camp: Home Edition

Next Generation Ministries introduces Ignite Camp: Home Edition April 6-10. The goal is to provide families with Spirit-filled content to encourage and uplift during a difficult season. During Holy Week beginning April 6, our trained camp counselors will release daily camp videos to put you and your kids in the summer spirit. These videos are mini-versions of our summer camping program and designed for ages 6-12. During 20-minute videos, we will sing, dance, play games, do crafts and learn Bible stories.  All of our videos will be posted on our NextGen YouTube page, so check back daily April 6-10 for new content.
