On Friday afternoon, Lockport Alderman Patrick Sheehan was selected and sworn in to replace former State Rep. Tim Ozinga, (37th Dist.), who abruptly resigned ([link removed]) on Tuesday, effective immediately, amid rumors that he is eying a run for governor in 2026.
The selection of Sheehan came as no surprise, as the local alderman is a close ally of Ozinga. But the rush to name his appointment just days after the shock resignation has many wondering why. Ozinga has been a major financial contributor to Sheehnan’s campaigns.

Meanwhile, it's been quite a week in Chicago, as disgraced Chicago GOP Chair Stephen Boulton, who achieved only 24 write-in ballots of the 111 necessary to retain his committeeman post, lashes out at Illinois Review for publishing ([link removed]) his Never Trumper posts. During the same time, though, the purported leader of the free world, Joe Biden, visited Chicago for a very low-key but high-dollar fundraiser, which we bring to you here.

This past Monday night, President Joe Biden needed a teleprompter set up in the living room of a private home to address a small group of wealthy donors and close friends, as he made a brief stop in downtown Chicago to raise money for his re-election campaign.
The private event, attended by about 50 people including Bill Daley, the former White House Chief of Staff under President Barack Obama, and First Lady of Illinois MK Pritzker. The fundraiser was hosted by Michael Sacks, CEO of GCM Grosvenor, an investment and advisory firm and Chicago Cubs co-owner Laura Ricketts.
Ricketts, a Democrat, is the sister of Republican’s Pete, Tom and Todd. Todd Ricketts was listed as a
co-chair ([link removed]) for the Palm Beach fundraiser last Saturday night that raised a record $50.5 million for President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. In 2019, President Trump selected Todd to serve as Finance Chairman for Trump Victory. Pete Ricketts served as the 40th Governor of Nebraska and is now a United States Senator.
