Fellow Conservative,
This week saw extensive debate on Capitol Hill on multiple issues, including what to do about the impeachment articles for Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas, federal agencies spying on American citizens, and election integrity. There is a lot to get into – let’s get right in:
Mayorkas Trial Update
The House delayed delivery of the impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas from the planned date of April 10th, to this next week..
When the articles are finally transmitted, the Senate needs to know that the American people expect and demand a trial.

Secretary Mayorkas willfully violated <[link removed]> immigration law resulting in at least 10
million illegal immigrant crossings since 2021.
Mayorkas has caused this by ignoring detention policies, releasing those caught crossing the border into the country, misusing parole authority, and lying to Congress under oath.
The results are catastrophic and can be felt across the country as the open border brings an increase in crime <[link removed]>, drains local resources <[link removed]>, opens the floodgates for an increase in drug and sex trafficking, adds stress to the housing market, and increases the threat of a terrorist attack. <[link removed]>
Mayorkas must be held accountable.
>>>Call the Senate <[link removed]> and tell them to HOLD THE TRIAL for all to see.
FISA Reform and Section 702 Reauthorization
The politicization of the FBI, its record of abuses and the executive branch’s continued misuse of federal intelligence authorities is chilling. Bureaucrats have repeatedly surveilled the exercise of free speech and other constitutional rights of Americans. Congress can no longer ignore these clear and egregious violations of the American people’s trust and civil liberties and must enact real reforms.
As the House debated renewal of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), these abuses and the need for reforms were a central focus on both sides of the aisle . One of the more meaningful proposed reforms was an amendment to prohibit warrantless searches of U.S. person communications in the FISA 702 database.
The warrant requirement would make sure that all federal agencies – including the FBI – could not have unfettered access to information on U.S. persons in this database without a warrant. Heritage Action issued a Key Vote in support of this amendment. >> Read more from Heritage Action’s Key Vote <[link removed]>
While the amendment did not pass, the majority of Republicans voted in support of the amendment, standing on the side of protecting civil liberties while also ensuring that national security threats posed by foreign adversaries like China can continue to be investigated.
The underlying bill – without the warrant requirement – still contains important steps in the right direction including restrictions on the Section 702 program, real limitations on the FBI’s involvement with the program, much-needed reforms to the traditional FISA process, and enhanced audits and penalties for violations.
There is still more work that is needed. A silver lining in the bill is that it reauthorizes FISA Section 702 for only two years instead of the alternative of five years (as originally written). This means that if conservatives are able to produce results in the next election cycle, they will have another shot to reform the bill while in a position of power.
It now heads to the Senate for debate.
SAVE America's Elections
Only Americans should determine the outcome of American elections. But the Left wants illegal immigrants to both determine the declaration of representation and to vote in our elections.
In 2010, Democrats removed the citizenship question from the U.S. census. The census is used to determine representative allotment across the country. This means that representation in the House and the distribution of Electoral College delegates can be swayed by non-citizens.
Fortunately, the Equal Representation Act <[link removed]> has been introduced and would add the citizenship question back into the census. Support for this bill is gaining momentum and has just achieved over 100 cosponsors <[link removed]> in the House of Representatives.
Now, Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) will introduce <[link removed]> another bill called the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act) to ensure states require proof of citizenship before allowing individuals to vote.
While
citizenship is already required to vote, there are very poor mechanisms to enforce this law. For example, many states accept drivers’ licenses and even utility bills as proof of citizenship, but many of those same states do not require proof of citizenship to acquire a drivers’ license. This makes it impossible to tell who is really voting in our elections and it needs to stop.
The SAVE Act would end these loopholes and bring greater integrity to our elections.

Since 2021, over 10 million illegal immigrants have crossed our borders making these measures needed more than ever before.
>>>Call Congress <[link removed]> and tell them to support election integrity.

No More Job Killing Regulations
Last
year the National Labor Relations Board issued a regulation redefining “joint employer” to encompass many franchise businesses. This greatly affects the number of businesses (and workers) subject to greater government regulation and threatens to destabilize the franchise model of business which employs over 8.4 million workers.
But this week, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) led the Senate passed House Joint Resolution 98 to overturn this job-killing regulation.
This comes after the grassroots made their voices heard in opposition by submitting 8,761 comments telling the administration to rescind the rule. This outcry forced Congress to take notice and to act.
Your voice can make a difference. Thank you for making it heard.
