Team, I know it’s been a really tough month for many of us. I’m feeling incredibly lucky that my family is healthy and safe right now, and I’m so grateful to those on the frontlines making that possible. I’m also finding silver linings in getting to spend more time with my kids.

My campaign has been working hard to adapt to our new reality, and I wanted to take a moment to share some highlights from the past few weeks:

We recently held our first virtual Q&A with the Dallas County East Democrats – I’m looking forward to more digital events in the coming weeks!

We also just launched our Digital Organizing Bootcamp to get our volunteers the tools and training they need to get our message out there. Our text banking and phone banking volunteers have been spreading our message across Texas, all without leaving their houses!

And one of the updates I’m most proud of from the last month is that because of my commitment to defending reproductive rights, I earned the endorsement of both EMILY’s List and Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

But through it all -- and most importantly -- I got to spend time with my family. My mother came to stay with us through isolation, and my kids were so excited to have her here!

We came through this last month strong, all thanks to our grassroots team. Right now, I’m counting on all of our grassroots supporters to help out as we push on through.

I know I’ve said this before, but it is so important that I’m going to say it a bunch more – we are relying on our online donors more than ever right now because we just can’t have any in-person events.
