John, with Ramadan now being over, I want to take a minute to reflect on this past holy month.

One of my favorite highlights was when I hosted a community Iftar, and it was beyond what I hoped and expected.

This moment has been a vision of mine for the last four years, and finally, I was able to make it happen. And I’m beyond grateful.

Hosting Iftar is a direct result of the work we’ve done to build a more vibrant and inclusive Durham community. We’ve created a city where all are respected and welcomed. I couldn’t be more proud to be a Durhamite.

However, hosting an interfaith community Iftar isn’t something that can be done everywhere, John. The truth is, we have a lot of work to be done to build the same inclusive community, like the one we have in Durham, across the state.

After our event, I’m more energized than ever to work every day to elect progressives who will build the same inclusive environment in communities across the state.

I’m going to do everything I can to ensure down-ballot progressives win their elections in November, but I need your support to ensure I have the resources to help them, John.
