Every day, health care workers risk their lives to fight COVID-19 and protect us all. But, right now, our health care workers aren't being treated right.

Health care workers are reporting that they don't have the personal protective equipment (PPE) they need — things like masks, gloves, and eye protection — to safely care for COVID-19 patients.

Take a look at this tweet from a doctor who works at a hospital that serves thousands in my district:

Rather than providing workers with proper PPE, our federal government is giving them next to nothing. As a result, they are being forced to treat vulnerable patients in flimsy rain ponchos, exposing themselves to a deadly disease the entire time.

The coronavirus crisis will get significantly worse if health care workers on the frontlines don't get what they need to safely treat patients and protect themselves from infection. While our nurses and other health care workers battle on the frontlines, Trump is making baseless attacks on nurses. He’s accusing them of stealing masks, while he refuses to come up with solutions to help them.
