This week I was pleased to hear Japan Prime Minister Kishida’s address to a Joint Session of Congress. His commitment and resolve for a strong alliance, trilateral partnership with South Korea and the Phillippines, global cooperation, and assuring support for Ukraine came through clearly in his speech and were appreciated.

So many bright students from Western states were in town this week for House of Code, including our CA-40 Congressional App Challenge Winner, Sophia! Her app “Trashbot” can detect whether an object is recyclable or trash.

I’m proud to be a voice for educational opportunities for students.

This week on the House Financial Services Committee, I pointed out regulations proposed by SEC Chair Gensler will increase compliance costs and open up companies to face unnecessary litigation. We want policies that help counter climate change, but we need to stop these burdensome regulations. I'll keep fighting for common sense.

On the House Foreign Affairs Committee this week, I asked Administrator Samantha Power about USAID advancing the US-ROK-Japan trilateral partnership.
