Friends,
I wanted to share with you an update on recent work.
Today, I voted against the reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act after essential reforms to protect American’s privacy – including the requirement of a warrant – were not adopted.
I also joined the challenge to New York's plan to provide illegal migrants with taxpayer-funded prepaid debit cards. Read more here.
And, I cosponsored legislation to advance American domestic energy production opportunities.
The Judiciary Subcommittee I chair held a public hearing to discuss the potential policy changes needed to respond to emerging AI technologies.
Finally, the House approved my legislation related to the Jamul Indian Tribe – marking my third bill passed by the House during this Congress. This follows the recent passage of my passport modernization bill.
As always, it is an honor to serve as your representative in Congress. For more information, please visit my website at www.issa.house.gov.
