Hi, my name is Patrick DePoe and I’m running for Commissioner of Public Lands to protect all that is great about our state, its lands, and the people they sustain.

As a proud member of the Makah Tribe, my roots are interwoven with Washington's diverse landscapes and the honored tradition of environmental stewardship. From the helm of disaster relief vessels and fishing boats to the halls of Olympia, I’m guided by my cultural belief that sustainability is more than a slogan, it’s a way of life.
I’ve been a commercial fisherman, a land manager, and a tribal leader and I’ve seen firsthand how public policy impacts our environment and our livelihoods.
I’m committed to investing in our local communities while ensuring responsible management of the lands that support them.
From warming temperatures to raging wildfires, it’s clearer than ever that Washington is confronting a climate crisis and we’re running out of time.
I grew up understanding the importance of caring for and living off the land. I will work hard to ensure that future generations can enjoy all that Washington has to offer.
If elected, I would be the first Native American elected to statewide office in Washington, the Pacific Northwest, and one of the first in American history.
I'm not asking you for money today, but I am asking you to help me make history by signing on here to support my campaign. What do you say: Are you with me?
We're building a people-powered movement and we need each and every one of you with us.
Thank you,
Patrick
