John --

For too long, we’ve heard story after story about nonprofits misusing city funding or city employees abusing public contracts for personal gain. As a county supervisor, I’ve made it my mission to hold city government, private contractors and nonprofits accountable, and finally put an end to corruption of any kind.

Unfortunately, the lack of oversight and corruption in our government goes far beyond our cities – that’s why I’m running for the State Assembly. I’ve led the charge in San Francisco. Now, I need your support to get to Sacramento and continue to fight for a state government that works for everyone.

Throughout my time in office, I’ve passed meaningful legislation to do just that:

✅ Passed legislation to prevent corruption when city departments award contracts to private vendors

✅ Passed legislation to strengthen the public grant awarding process and to hold grant recipients accountable

✅ Passed legislation to create performance metrics and accountability standards for nonprofits providing city services

In the State Assembly, I’ll continue to lead the way on holding our state government, private contracts and nonprofits accountable.

We need real accountability in Sacramento – only then will we see meaningful action on our most pressing challenges of neighborhood safety, the cost of housing and access to quality healthcare. I’m so grateful to have your support in this fight.

Sincerely,

Catherine
