UPDATE: The Arizona Supreme Court just upheld a total abortion ban, which will take effect soon.
Rush an Emergency Donation

This week, the Arizona Supreme Court showed once again how far opponents of reproductive freedom will go to trample our rights and deny patients access to care. The court is allowing a total abortion ban, with virtually no exceptions, to be enforced. This ban is from 1864 — before women could vote. It not only will eliminate abortion access in the state, it will criminalize doctors who provide abortion care, too.

Under a court order, the ban can't be enforced until 45 days after the state supreme court's ruling is finalized, so for a limited time people in Arizona can still get abortion care. We have to move quickly to make sure patients can get the care they need. Please, chip in now with an emergency donation.

Arizona's total abortion ban will be catastrophic to the health and lives of millions in the state and across the region, especially for people in the state who already have a hard time getting care: Black, Latino, and Indigenous communities; young people; LGBTQ+ people, and people with low incomes. It will force pregnant people to carry pregnancies, or bear the financial burden of traveling hundreds or thousands of miles for care.

Your support helps keep Planned Parenthood health centers open, provide financial support for patients who may need to travel to get care, and more. It also helps us fight back in court against attacks on abortion, gender-affirming care, and reproductive rights across the country.

This week, Planned Parenthood attorneys were in the Iowa Supreme Court, working to stop an abortion ban from taking effect in that state. Court battles continue in Montana and other states.

Every one of these cases threatens the health and lives of millions of people. The only way we can stand strong for the patients who are counting on us is with your solid support. Help send critical resources where they are needed most right now. Your gift will help protect and expand access to care, ensure Planned Parenthood health centers have the resources they need to see patients, provide sex education to young people across the country, and more.

Abortion bans like Arizona's put politics where they don't belong: in our personal medical decisions. We know these bans are unpopular — that's why, when abortion is put directly to the people via a ballot initiative, like in Kansas, Michigan, Vermont, and other states, the people choose freedom.

But we are also seeing the harsh truth in Arizona: Opponents of reproductive freedom will not let up. They're willing to reach back to a law from 1864 — dating from the Civil War, before Arizona was a state — to push their anti-abortion agenda. There is no weapon they will not use to attack our health and rights.

We have to be bold enough and committed enough to keep fighting back, no matter what. Make your emergency gift now.

Our movement is strong and growing because of people like you. Thank you for everything you do.
