Mayorkas Impeachment Trial Delayed

This past Wednesday, the House of Representatives planned to send the impeachment articles for DHS Secretary Mayorkas to the Senate so that an impeachment trial might begin. However, several Senate Republicans encouraged Speaker Johnson to wait until next Monday to help ask the Senate to take the impeachment articles seriously. Speaker Johnson's office responded:

"To ensure the Senate has adequate time to perform its constitutional duty, the House will transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate next week… There is no reason whatsoever for the Senate to abdicate its responsibility to hold an impeachment trial."

Unfortunately, many Senators prioritize going home over the weekend over their constitutional duty to consider impeachment articles from the House, so we'll have to wait until early next week to see what Leader Schumer does when the articles of impeachment arrive.

If you haven't already, there's still time to visit your Action Board and message your Senators to demand a full impeachment trial of Secretary Mayorkas.

Ukraine and Border

First, thank you to everyone who took action this week to tell your Members of Congress to use the Ukraine/Israel/Taiwan supplemental to end the border crisis!

There is still no word on whether Speaker Mike Johnson has found a path forward on a bill, but that could still occur prior to Congress leaving town on April 18th for a week-long recess. We believe this could be one of the last opportunities Congress has to force the Biden Administration to stop the border crisis.

Again, there's still time to visit your Action Board and take action on this important issue. We should know more next week.

SUSTAINABILITY (ROB HARDING)

Other nations are addressing unsustainable immigration

New Zealand and Australia are cutting unsustainable immigration to deal with soaring housing prices and overwhelmed infrastructure; and to prioritize the domestic workforce.

Switzerland is holding a referendum to reduce immigration to address "housing shortages and rising rents, traffic jams on the roads, crowded trains and buses, falling standards of schools, increasing violence and crime, electricity shortages, income stagnating per capita, ever-higher health insurance premiums, indebted social services, and increased pressure on the beauty of the landscape and the preservation of nature." Read more here.

Immigration is America's top problem

Americans are more concerned about immigration than any other problem. What is Washington, D.C. worried about? It's an election year so we're going to cut through the political theater and focus on the essentials.

Sustainable immigration requires Stopping illegal immigration, and Reducing legal immigration. Whether or not America says "yes" to an immigration system we can sustain and be proud of comes down to us. Visit your action board.

Kat Williams, Comedian, discusses Mass Immigration on Joe Rogan Show

In the latest version of NPP's Spilling the Tea on mass immigration, I review Kat Williams' latest comments about benefits and homelessness. More celebrities are bringing attention to benefits illegal aliens receive that homeless Americans have never seen.

Uncovering May 26th for Black Americans

Often archeologists find lost artifacts that make us reconsider our history. I believe Roy Beck has rediscovered an event that Black scholars, students, and historians will have to reconsider as a game changer for Black American empowerment. Roy Beck and I will discuss how the 1924 Immigration Act was a catalyst for the Great Migration, HBCU Development, and the Civil Rights Movement. Check out my take here!

Immigration Challenge: Preserving the integrity of our "birthright"

Watch this new video from NumbersUSA explaining how citizens of other nations can enter the U.S. on a tourist visa (or cross the border illegally), take a weekend vacation, deliver a baby, and the U.S. government will automatically bestow "birthright citizenship" on the newborn. More than 350,000 children annually are born to parents in the U.S. illegally or on a tourist visa. When the child turns 18, the whole family becomes eligible for green cards, setting off a new "chain migration" (see above). The 14th Amendment to the Constitution was intended to enfranchise former slaves and their descendants, not create the global "birth tourism" industry that we have today.
