If you think you’ve had a hard life, the chances are Carrie Sheffield has you beat. At the same time, if you think you’ve lived a blessed life, the chances are Carrie Sheffield has you beat.
Motorhome Prophecies is an autobiography by my friend (Carrie) who appears to have only the best or worst instincts and nothing in between. It’s also the story of her struggles with an abusive father, a fucked up family (sorry Carrie, these reviews are short, and that’s the briefest way to put it), and a litany of romantic as well as professional struggles.
Is Carrie Sheffield one of the unluckiest lucky people in America? Perhaps. But she’s also one of the brightest, and most optimistic. Like the Keymaker in The Matrix Reloaded, Carrie’s mantra appears to be, “Another way, always another way.”
It’s not always entirely clear where she’s going, or why. Even to her. But if her entire journey was so she could write Motorhome Prophecies and give others the discipline and wherewithal to get knocked down, get back up again, and find God along the way, I’ll say it was all worth it.
