We’ve seen a lot of crazy attempts – successful or not – to ban and even criminalize abortion, but I think this one takes the cake.

 

The Arizona Supreme Court just replaced the state’s law PROTECTING access to abortion with a law from 160 years ago that BANS it almost entirely.

 

Two years ago, Arizona passed a law allowing abortions up to 15 weeks into pregnancy. The state’s justices decided this week that the law as it’s written requires a federal constitutional right to abortion – which SCOTUS ended when they overturned Roe v. Wade.

 

Under this reinstated 1864 law, doctors who perform an abortion for any reason besides to save a patient’s life will face felony charges, have their license revoked, and serve 2-to-5 years in prison if found guilty.

 

Republicans try to tell us that abortion is up to the people to decide for their state, but this abortion ban passed before women even had the right to vote.

 

We have to fight for every single seat in Congress to stop Republicans from imposing these extreme laws on the national level.

Even Donald Trump has come out against total abortion bans, but his friends in Congress aren’t lining up behind him this time.

 

I’m running against Mike Simpson, a MAGA Republican who sponsored legislation that would ban abortion nationwide and outlaw in vitro fertilization (IVF).

 

Unlike Trump, Republicans like Simpson aren’t afraid of losing an election for being outspoken against women’s rights. They only care about controlling our lives and activating their most extreme supporters.

 

When we flip this seat and kick Mike Simpson out of Congress in November, we’ll send a message to the entire party that Americans will NOT stand by and watch our rights be stolen from us for their radical agenda.
