I recently had the chance to visit Tulsa Innovation Labs and speak with their leadership to learn how Tulsa’s Tech Hub is supporting U.S. national security, fueling good-paying jobs in OK, and safeguarding America’s warfighters. I heard from Managing Director Jennifer Hankins on exciting new projects underway to support the future of tech in Tulsa.
It was great to visit with Pryor Mayor Zac Doyle, Salina Mayor Randall Plumlee, Chouteau Mayor Brenda Cunningham, and other Mayes County leadership to hear about the top issues facing their communities. We discussed water infrastructure needs for smaller communities and highway infrastructure issues as well the importance of local partnerships and the impact it has on communities and schools.
Additionally, I recently visited HE&M Saw Manufacturing in Pryor to meet their leadership team and receive a tour of the facility. HE&M Saw Manufacturing is an American-made business, manufacturing more than 70 different models of production band saws for the metalworking industry. Operating in MidAmerica Industrial Park for nearly 50 years, the Pryor location proudly employs over 200 Oklahomans. I sat down with President and CEO Doug Harris, Corporate Vice President Max Harris, and Stephen Bell to discuss the manufacturing workforce and the challenges the industry is currently facing such as an increase in product costs and business being sourced overseas.
