John,
It’s about to get a lot more expensive to drive in Maryland…
Thanks to the partisan politicians in Annapolis, Marylanders will have to shoulder more than $400 million in new taxes and fees over the coming years. Yes, you read that right.
While hardworking families are forced to deal with the financial consequences of inflation and struggle to pay their bills, our leaders have decided to make it even harder for them to make ends meet.
One place this massive tax hike will be felt the most is on the road. This is because most of the increases come in the form of vehicle-related fees. That means registering — or re-registering — a car is about to get far more expensive.
In other words, Marylanders now have to pay more taxes on things they already own. This is unacceptable.
I’m sick and tired of seeing the amazing progress we made while I was governor rolled back. You deserve better — and we’ve proven there is a better way.
When I was governor, one of the first things we did was cut or eliminate hundreds of fees across the board. That’s common sense. And it’s the same approach I’ll take in the U.S. Senate. I know that when people get to keep more of their own money in their own pockets, everybody wins.
With this latest tax hike, the politicians in Annapolis proved they do not understand this simple truth. That’s why I’m asking you to send them a message and REJECT THE TAX HIKES.
Together, we will return common sense to Maryland AND Washington.
