Dear Reader,

Two thousand and twenty-three was a banner year for FIRST THINGS. You need not take my word for it, though. To the right, you’ll find a thumbnail of the 2023 FIRST THINGS Annual Report.

Of course, you already know some of what we were up to if you read our magazine or web articles, listened to our podcasts, or attended a FIRST THINGS event. As such, our goals for this Annual Report were modest: to recognize the year’s finest articles and highlight a few other ways FIRST THINGS championed thoughtful religious voices in the public square last year.

Its foremost purpose, though, is to celebrate the FIRST THINGS supporters whose generous giving made these accomplishments possible.

It would be my great joy to recognize you as such in next year’s Annual Report. Insofar as I have an agenda for this note to you, it regards this. Please consider supporting the mission and work of FIRST THINGS here in 2024 ([link removed]) .

With a fraught presidential election approaching, fissures beginning to show in the Rainbow Reich, and an inflection point ahead for the Church in America and worldwide, it is vital that FIRST THINGS reaches as many people as possible this year.

Please give today so that we can. Visit firstthings.com/donate ([link removed]) or click on the secure button below to make your tax-deductible 2024 gift.
