BREAKING: ROMANO DISCUSSES 2016 LESSONS, COVID-19, AND MORE IN MONTANA POST PODCAST
Democratic candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction Melissa Romano sat down with the Montana Post to discuss her education priorities for Montana and how she'll restore leadership to the Office of Public Instruction in November.
In the interview, Romano discusses what she learned from her 2016 race, her efforts to help Montana families transition to online and at home learning while we grapple with the COVID-19 outbreak, and the urgency to restore leadership at the Office of Public Instruction.
"I think folks are really understanding the importance of investing in public education right now," Romano said. "We are seeing hundreds and hundreds of folks get involved with this campaign... and relying on folks who can maybe only give $20, but we're still out-funding my opponent. It's amazing to have this huge grassroots movement of support."
Our children, teachers and parents deserve a state superintendent who will stand up for public education. Now more than ever, we are seeing the importance of electing education advocates to office who will work as hard as our teachers and administrators to create a brighter future for all Montanans.
