AKRON, OH — Today, the Emilia Sykes For Congress campaign announced that it raised $815,942.72, the campaign’s strongest first quarter performance ever. The record breaking donations from across Northeast Ohio, and the country, highlight the growing coalition that is excited and activated to reelect Emilia Sykes.
“I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from everyone who has donated, volunteered, or stood by our campaign. We are building the kind of broad coalition that will carry us to victory in November. My number one priority has always been my constituents and I promise to continue my work in Congress fighting for good paying jobs, affordable healthcare, and reproductive freedom for all.”
Sykes is serving the second year of her first two-year term representing Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. Her top priority is making government work for her district. During her tenure, she has brought back more than $100 million in federal dollars to the district, including $1,050,000 to establish the Polymer Research, Development, Production Facility at the University of Akron; $963,000 for the Summit and Stark County Local Law Enforcement Assistance Program; and $4,116,279 to facilitate construction of a new, high level bridge between Cuyahoga Falls and Akron.
